About Structure Void¶
Structure Void is the studio and certified training center founded by Julien Bayle in Marseille, patching since 1997. It works at the convergence of sound, code and image: training, consulting, development and research around Ableton Live, Max / MSP / Jitter, Max for Live, RNBO and Arduino, with a strong focus on generative and audiovisual systems.
Certifications¶
Structure Void is an Ableton Certified Training Center and a Qualiopi-certified training organisation. Julien Bayle is both an Ableton Certified Trainer and a Max Certified Trainer, one of the very few people worldwide holding both certifications at once.
What Structure Void does¶
Training, structured, small-group or one-to-one courses on Ableton Live, Max / MSP / Jitter, Max for Live, RNBO, Arduino and sound design. Fully adapted to each participant's project, on-site in Marseille or online, with French funding options (AFDAS, OPCO, employer).
Consulting & development, audiovisual systems, live setups, immersive installations, human–machine interfaces, audio plug-ins and embedded work (Raspberry Pi, Arduino).
Research & tools, open tools and research around the technologies Structure Void teaches, including the Void ecosystem for Max for Live, the free in-browser Script Generator for MIDI Remote Scripts, and this very documentation.
This documentation¶
In 2012, Julien was the first to decompile Ableton's MIDI Remote Scripts and share the
sources openly, at the time they were a black box. A whole community grew on top of that
work. This site is the unofficial, open-source documentation those scripts never had: the
framework (_Framework, ableton.v2, ableton.v3) and the Live Object Model from
Live 9 to Live 12, side by side. See the home page to get started.
